Mother’s Day is coming up. For the first time in a long while, I actually remembered the exact date of this year’s Mother’s Day. And fortunately my mom happens to be in town for her Visa visit this year too.
To show my appreciation, I decided to buy my mom a little present this year. So last Saturday, after a well rested sleep from my jetlag, I went out to go gift shopping.
To be honest, I have no clue to what would be a good present for my mom, so after about 1 hour of shopping around, I decided to get her a Coach handbag (not too cheap so it would defeat the good intention and not too expensive live the LV bags so that she would say that I am wasting money), and I am pretty proud of my taste too (I bought her something I would carry if I were a woman or a super metrosexual).
With the handbag on hand, I got all excited and promptly drove home so I can give my mom the present.
Well, to my surprise, when she saw the handbag, she first thanked me for remembering Mother’s day. But she then promptly send me back to the mall to exchange for a bigger one (at my cost!!!) she said the bag I got her is “too small” and not practical…
Women and handbags! What can you do?…
Now, I just need to convince mom to stay until Sunday so I can take a long walk with her in Huntington Library and talk about life followed by our usual Sunday brunch whenever she is in town.
Get used to it. After I graduated and started working, I asked my mom what she would like for Christmas. and she said "Ferragamo shoes". Shoot, I never paid so much for shoes in my life. haha. It's all good though, they raised us. :)
