Shades of Green

with all the recent rains in Socal, it is nice to see things turning green again. Every morning, when I drove passed the Brea hill to get to work, It is always a great sight for me to see the hills turning greener and greener (and sometimes, you'll even see cows on the hills). So naturally, as a artistic person that I am, I began to pay attention to the different shades of green.
Do you know, green, more so than any other coloar, has more shades in natural state. Bet you didn't know that did you.
Some of the unique greens in our popular culture>
  • Green Monster (Fenway park, dirty green)
  • Bianchi Green (Bike, pasty green)
  • Celtic Green (Boston Celtics)
  • Green Bay green (Greenish yellow green)
  • Notre Dame green (a tat darker than Celtic green)
  • Jauguar Green (British racing green, shitty green color, just as the Brits in general^^)

Sickly January

Well folks. January has not been kind to me. I spent most of the month sick. Month to date, I had 2 cases of severe flu (near bronchitis) , 1 case of food poisoning, and 1 case of cold sore. But today, after a well rested Friday and Saturday. I finally feel like me again.
During my sickness, I did catchup on lots of great movies read some more books and learned to cook some nice dishes, not to mention, learned two new chords for my guitar. Really is fun for self amusement :P

Oasis

It was pouring last night in Irivne, and I was in one of those mellow mode. So I decided to open up a bottle of wine and just sit infront of the stereo with a book in hand and just listen to music.

The CDs I picked were the first two albums by Oasis "Definitely Maybe" and "What's the Story Morning Glory"....

I forgot how much I enjoyed their early works (even though their later stuffs are crap).

My favorite has always been "Wonderwall".

I wonder....who has been, and who will be my wonderwall?

damn cold...

I am still sick now. Can't believe this damn cold is lingering for so long (I thought I got over it well when I returned after CES but the crappy air at work got me again. With that said, I am hoping I will be all healthy by the end of this week. Just in time for lots of projects and fun activities =)

  • Triathlon training - I tried to run this past week, I can't believe how out of shape I am (maybe it is the sickness still) However, I was pretty impressed by my running partner though. Don't worry, the fact that you are faster will not bruise my ego! ^^

  • GMAT - While at it, I am thinking why not give the good old GMAT another shot. We might head into recession soon. If all fails, why not hedge back to school for a while?

  • Meditation before reading (help me to concentration and focus, I am trying to keep up with my Economist and Business week and other fun stuffs)

  • Yoga (Help me to stretch for Triathlon)

  • Guitar (Help me to release stress, and yeah, it feels good when I played a chord right)

  • Cooking (I need to learn more new dishes to impress myself and guests, while at it, learn wines too)

So many things in my calender, but I am so looking forward to them.

Free at last...

It It is MLK day Monday. A day we should all celebrate. In many ways, this year MLK day has additional significance to me. Just recently, I finally feel free at last too. I no longer feel the burden anymore =)

Chinatown

In the 18 years I spend in Southern California, I have never been to Chinatown. It is weird, the thought just never came across...Until last night.

I was surprised to find out that Chinatown LA has become somewhat of an mellow artist colony. There are some interesting nightlifes there. The people in the bar are mellow and very artistic (and intellectual, at least the one I went to).

I would strongly recommend those of you who are tired of the superficial Sunset/Hightland scene. Give Chinatown a chance, you might find more than meets the eyes ^^

Patriots

Will win today! 45 to 17

Random Thoughts

No matter how frustrating grown up life sometimes may be.
And no matter how flustered I will have to deal with the inevitable eventuality.

I, at this moment, this very moment, am content, No more, no less, just content.
And I hope, hopelessly, that these rare precious moments and times will not flee and abandon. But that is too much to ask. But, as always, my wishful thinking is for these moments to last a little while…just a bit...

Severe Flu

Arggh. Not a good start to the New Year ....
somebody makes u a bowl of ginger ginseng whatever chicken soup.....

2008 wishes

Happy New Year Everyone.

I spent the most of the day....reading, of all things.
I stumbled upon this book "I am Legend" in Target in the morning and said to myself, what da heck, why not buy it instead of watching the movie.
The book turned out to be a very fast read (I finished it in 3 hours).
I can say that the storyline is pretty good, but I wish the book would be longer....

Anyway.

For 2008 I will try my best to:

1) Read more

2) Train... again (I am out of shape for most of 2007)

3) Be a better, more thoughtful and more caring person to those I care about

I hope, it will be a memerable (in a very good way) 2008
