A night at the Gym

I have always had a lack of respect for gym rats and thought those gym rats are nothing but posers, and what they do are nothing athletic. When I pointed this out over lunch with a friend this weekend, she invited me to “Camp 24” at 24 hour fitness yesterday since she has recently become very passionate about yoga and aerobics (compliment to you AW, the result is DEFINITELY showing :P)
I thought it was going to be a breeze. Boy! Was I WRONG!

After one hour of sheer TORTURE, I cannot walk upstairs today at work….had to use the elevator.
I definitely have gained a new found respect for you gym rats out there.

Swimming

Swam close to two freaking miles yesterday:

What started as an easy, get back into the rhythm, 25 min. session ended up as a test of how far I push this early in the season.

1st 16 laps (800 meters) -- Feeling fine, my form was a little off, but I corrected it as the lap count increased. I breathed every other stroke to get max. O2 intake.

2nd 16 laps (1600 meters) – still feeling fine. There was nobody in the pool, just the way I like it. But a few ducks landed in the pool and kept me company. I never knew ducks paddles constantly under water, I guess they have to so they don’t sink.

3rd 16 laps (2400 meters) –laboring. I have that sinking feeling….stop leg kicks all together, but alas, I did manage to finish last lap with strong kicks. My swim coach for one day would be proud:P

Total time: 54min.

As I got onshore, I felt lightheaded. But all in all, it was a good practice. Next step. Integrate the bike and the run into my daily routines.

After the long swim, I had a great dinner and slept in early. I had two bowls of rice with eggs and fishchips. One Costco BBQ rib. Salad and broccoli (it took me an hour to prep the food). But well worth it :P

Long March....

Went on a hiking adventure yesterday (No this is not the actual photo from the hike). What started off as a laid back walk with a Miniature Siberian Huskies (J/K, Miniature America Eskimo), around the nationhood ended up as a grand tour of Corona Del Mar/Newport Beach/Crystal Cove/ and our destination--- Trader Joes. There were some scenic spots along the way, and there were some danger zone too where we had to walk single file to avoid perilous outcome. But alas, we made it back after a THREE HOUR TOUR, a THREE HOUR TOUR.

And our reward???? Tata a big and juicy IN AND OUT BURGER!
