"The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant in the family Asteraceae and native to the Americas, with a large flowering head (inflorescence). The stem can grow as high as 3 meters, and the flower head can reach 30 cm in diameter with the "large" seeds. The term "sunflower" is also used to refer to all plants of the genus Helianthus, many of which are perennial plants."
I remember when I was in Jr. High, I actually grew a bunch of Sunflowers in my backyard. And I was amazed how big it got. For the past few days, for some strange reason, I am eagerly thinking of planting again. I may pay home depot a visit this weekend to get some pots and seeds.
